Sire Edjaz van ‘t Merelsnest jumped himself up to Grand Prix level and is the full brother of Jur Vrieling’s VDL Glasgow van ‘t Merelsnest – winner of the Grand Prix of Rome and the World Cup of Helsinki. Edjaz’ dam Wendelina van ‘t Merelsnest is the full sister to McLain Ward’s Sapphire – Olympic team champion in 2004 and 2008. This damline also produced the Grand Prix showjumper H5 Sunshine. Ridden by Scott Brash, Sunshine made his breakthrough at the highest level, to later on continue his successful career with Belgium’s Jos Verlooy and nowadays Mexico’s Carlos Hank Guerreiro.
