The Youngsters Auction B.V. (Chamber of Commerce 90543149), Geerenweg 2, 3755 NM Eemnes, the Netherlands, is responsible for the personal data described in this policy. For questions or requests, email info@theyoungsters-auction.com.

1. What we collect

• Bidder account: username, password (stored encrypted), salutation, first and last name, date of birth, email address, telephone number, address, country, language and time zone. For companies we also collect company name, address and VAT number. We record the IP address at registration and at each login.
• Bidding and purchases: your bids (in the room, by phone or online), purchases, invoices and payments.
• Tickets: name and email address, through Eventbrite.
• Newsletters and messages: email address, name and phone number. For emails, we also record whether you open them and which links you click.
• Website visits: pages visited, device and browser data, through cookies (section 6).
• Contact: what you send us by email, phone or social media.

2. Why we use it

• To create your bidder account, let you bid, and handle purchase, payment, invoicing and delivery of horses. Basis: performance of the contract under our auction terms.
• To keep the records Dutch tax law requires, and to verify your identity where anti-money-laundering rules require it. Basis: legal obligation.
• To send news about our auctions, horses and events by email, WhatsApp or SMS. Basis: your consent, or our legitimate interest in informing bidders and buyers about our next auctions. Every message lets you unsubscribe with one click.
• To measure and improve our website and to show relevant advertising on Facebook, Instagram and Google. Basis: your consent through the cookie settings.
• To keep the auction and our website secure and to prevent fraud. Basis: legitimate interest.

If you sell a horse through us, your name may appear in the catalogue and on our website (auction terms, article 8.7).

3. Who receives your data

We share personal data only with the parties that help us run the auction, and only the data each of them needs:

• PWEB Solutions (Belgium): website, bidder accounts and online bidding, hosted in Belgium.
• Microsoft: email.
• Mailchimp (Intuit): newsletters.
• Eventbrite: ticket sales.
• Superchat and Meta (WhatsApp): WhatsApp messages.
• Meta Platforms: advertising on Facebook and Instagram, and the Meta pixel.
• Google: Google Analytics, YouTube videos and Google Fonts.
• Cloudflare: protection of our forms against spam and bots.
• ClipMyHorse.TV: livestream of the auction.
• Seller of your horse, our accountant, bank, transporters and veterinarians: where needed to complete a purchase.
• Government authorities: where the law requires it.

4. Transfers outside the EU

Microsoft, Mailchimp, Eventbrite, Meta, Google and Cloudflare also process data in the United States. These transfers take place under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

5. How long we keep it

• Bidder account: until 3 years after your last login or bid, or sooner if you ask us to delete it.
• Invoices and payment records: 7 years, as Dutch tax law requires.
• Newsletter data: until you unsubscribe.
• Website analytics: up to 14 months.

6. Cookies

• Necessary: PHPSESSID (keeps you logged in) and privacy-accept (stores your cookie choice).
• Analytics: Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*), up to 2 years.
• Marketing: Meta pixel (_fbp), 3 months.
• Videos: YouTube may place cookies when you play a video.

We place analytics and marketing cookies only after you accept them. You can change your choice at any time in your browser settings.

7. Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its use, or to transfer it to you or another party. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Email info@theyoungsters-auction.com and we will respond within one month. You can also file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).

8. Security

Our website uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS), passwords are stored encrypted, and only staff who need your data have access to it.

9. Age

Bidder accounts and our auctions are for persons aged 18 and over.

10. Changes

We update this policy when our services change. The date at the top shows the current version.
