Chastina Breaks the All-Time Record & Heads to the USA for 450,000 Euros
Over the past few weeks, interest in the exceptionally talented 5-year-old mare Chastina had been steadily rising — culminating in a new all-time record for The Youngsters Auction. During the 10th edition, Chastina became the top seller in the auction’s history, fetching an impressive 450,000 euros and heading to the United States of America. She was the undisputed highlight of an exciting evening filled with enthusiastic buyers at the live auction in Eemnes, The Netherlands.
“We couldn’t be happier with this 10th edition of The Youngsters Auction,” organizers Jasper and Peter van der Waaij emphasized. “The interest in Chastina was enormous over the past weeks. Some of the world’s very best riders came to see her, and everyone was so impressed. We truly believe this mare has a great future ahead of her.”
Through the mediation of former world number one Martin Fuchs, Chastina was sold to the United States. In the coming years, she will be carefully produced with the top level of the sport in mind.
A total of 27 showjumping talents were auctioned by auctioneer Louis De Cleene last Tuesday. The 3- and 4-year-old horses sold for an average of 33,000 euros, with the 3-year-old Dorian Grey TN son Domiran topping his age group at 60,000 euros. The 5- to 7-year-olds achieved an average price of over 100,000 euros.
The auction attracted buyers from all over the world, including Australia, Belgium, Colombia, Denmark, Finland, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, and the United States. Dutch investors were also highly active this year, with six of the 27 horses remaining in Dutch ownership.
The next edition of The Youngsters Auction is scheduled for October 2026.
