The 6th edition of The Youngsters Auction consists of 23 promising showjumpers. On Tuesday 11 October, the strictly selected group of 3-year-old talents will be auctioned by Louis De Cleene at Waaij Stud in Eemnes, the Netherlands. “This is probably our most complete collection to date,” states co-organiser Peter van der Waaij. “We have selected modern jumpers with scope, great types and extra quality on the jump. In addition, the auction horses are for the most part all bred from strong damlines full of sport.”

Since its establishment in 2018, The Youngsters Auction has focused on both ridden sporthorses and 3-year-old showjumpers. Since 2021, the auction has been split into two parts; last May the ridden sporthorse auction took place, now on Tuesday 11 October the auction of 3-year-old showjumpers. “That investing in 3-year-old horses pays off is evident from our references,” Peter van der Waaij states. “This week, for example, three horses are jumping at the World Championships in Lanaken who were all sold at The Youngsters Auction as 3-year-olds.”

Live presentation & auction
All 23 auction horses have recently been examined by Veterinary Clinic Wolvega and will show their jumping talents live in the presentation on the auction day itself. “That is something we value very much,” co-organiser Jasper van der Waaij states. “We find it very important that our customers can see all these 3-year-old horses jumping live one more time. The feeling you get with a horse you see live differs from when you only see a video. Of course, the presentation can also be followed worldwide via ClipMyHorse.TV’s livestream.”

Talented horses with a bright future
The collection for Tuesday 11 October is packed with talent. Offspring of well-known stallions such as Aganix du Seigneur, Baloubet du Rouet, Baltic VDL, Carrera VDL, Carthago, Chacoon Blue and Eldorado van de Zeshoek TN are part of the collection. In addition, most of the auction horses are closely related to several top international showjumpers. One special example is the Baloubet du Rouet daughter Bellini Z – bred out of Atlete van ‘t Heike, who competed with Eric Lamaze in the FEI Nations Cup Final in Barcelona. Or Olympia, a powerful daughter of Baltic VDL – the sire of Leone Jei and Faltic HB. The 3-year-old mare Believe Z is bred out of the sister of the well-known Zerlin M, while Cella Z and Julie are both already related to numerous Grand Prix horses.
Notable are also the two 3-year-old stallions Tarzan (Carthago x Heartbreaker) and Chacoon’s Star Z (Chacoon Blue x Quick Star), both bred from impressive damlines. Furthermore, there is Dallas VDL daughter Dynamite – bred from the sister of Kent Farrington’s Grand Prix winner Orafina. And also Off Course – the half-brother of the approved stallion Joviaal ES, who recently won the Grand Prix of Samorin ridden by Frank Schuttert.
“This group of horses is very strong across the whole collection,” says Biba McCaul on behalf of The Youngsters Auction. “They are all horses that are interesting to produce for the sport and we are sure that from this collection a good number of horses will eventually break through at international level!”
